Composting Info

Did you know that discarding wasted food into landfills does not breakdown the same as if it were disposed of into a compost pile? Disadvantages of combining organic waste with non-organic waste materials not only increases landfill capacity but also, produces a potent greenhouse gas called methane.

What Are the Benefits of Composting?

The advantages of properly disposing of organic waste into compost:
  • Reduces methane gas emissions by creating carbon dioxide
  • Returns nutrients to the soil which improves and supports the ecosystem
  • Preserves the environment by lowering our carbon footprint
  • Transforms into fertilizer which is a great addition for a healthy garden
